If the car isn't ideal, there is little point in investing in it. The Hyundai Elantra boasts excellent reliability on the market. According to withclutch.com, the Elantra scores 69.25, which makes it a very reliable option. It's one of the highest-scoring Hyundais, making an excellent name for the brand.
Hyundai India has discontinued its only D-segment sedan offering, the Elantra, and has subsequently taken the car's details off of its website. Since November last year, no units of the Elantra have found new homes, thus prompting the South Korean brand to bid adieu to its flagship sedan for the Indian market.
The SE and SEL's base 2.0-liter engine is mated to a CVT (continuously variable transmission) while the N Line, Blue Hybrid, and Limited Hybrid models get a DCT (dual-clutch transmission). Notably, the N Line gets a seven-speed DCT compared to the hybrids' six-speed DCT.
The Elantra can go up to 140 mph, while the Sentra can manage 124 mph. There's also a significant engine difference between the two. In the Elantra, you get the choice between the 147-hp 2.0-liter and 2.0-hp 1.6-liter engines. With the Sentra, you only get the option of a 149-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.
Hyundais are not expensive to maintain. RepairPal ranks the brand in 4th place for reliability out of 32 car brands, and owners pay an average of $468 per year for repairs and maintenance. This is cheaper than the industry average of $652 per year.
